Why Abdulraham Must Keep His Eyes On The Ball - Kayode Oyin-Zubair

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulraham Abdulrasaq as far, as I know has contested more than twice and in each of those years he filled credentials.

I can never be surprised that instead of digging for facts that can sharpen public discourse,  we have been swayed to concentrate on myth, falsehood and innuendo because we have stayed too long in Egypt, we don't even know a Cannan exists.

How would deep thinker, thinks a man whose candidate has not responded to weighty allegations like forgery and perjury can successfully lay ambush for a consistent and composed personality like Abdulraham Abdulrasaq?

If really the masked writer was doing himself and his beloved 'colony' any good, he could research more. Oh! He hid under matters of urgent attention to pour venom --that was damn too visible.

If you checked with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) where Abdulraham Abdulrasaq has always filled his educational qualifications you will discover that he is not only consent in what he put forward each time but brilliant papers for your eyes to behold.

Abdulraham, a man whose early life has defined as an entrepreneur did well for himself by pursuing his passion. This is where his father as educated and exposed as God helped him did well for his children while growing up. Same way I will commend Otedola for allowing his daughter to pursue a career in music. Many educated parents have not done well in this area.

As the first lawyer in Northern Nigeria, Pa A.G.F Abdulrasaq could have insisted all his kids must be lawyers, so that his chambers won't be lost to terminates.

The nonagerian is not only a deep lover of humanity but an epitome of selflessness. Little wonders, his offspring can not take eyes way from public and community service.

However, information sought from relevant archives indicated that, Abdulraham Abdulrasaq had his elementary schools in both Kaduna and Ilorin.

He graduated from Government College, Kaduna with good grades. I know that Lai Mohammed  graduated from Government College, Keffi, same school late Umar Musa Yar'dua attended.

Our father Tafida of Ilorin, Dr. Amuda Aluko, the first indigenous medical practitioner from Ilorin graduated from Barewa College, Kaduna just like late General David Lasisi Bamigboye, first military governor of Kwara State.

While I agree that destiny reigns supreme over what a mortal does, I had always wish I will attend one of the old schools in Kaduna like Barewa College; my father told me it used to be the breeding place for the prime movers. I could have ended up in my mother's alma mater too, the great TC --Titcombe College Egbe.

It is illogical and a product of lazy thinking for anyone to have thought that a man who graduated in the 70s like Abdulraham would bandied a NABTEB certificate. Haba! this is too low for big minds to read.

In the coming days, detractors will be put to shame and they will open mouths in awe when the resume of the man that has done well for himself in real private life is out.

Let me encourage, the lazy writers and fifth columnists here and there, that we need issues that can change the narrative. Kwara, as I see her, is at the moment of inertia.

Are you not surprised that a man who spent 8 years in the saddle as chief executive and later handed over to his protegee, that couldn't finish water reticulation in Ilorin alone, is today asking FG to declare emergency on water provision in Nigeria?

I know how much we have invested in water intervention project in Kwara State. We intervened in 12 local government areas out of 16 that make up the state.

What accounted for the outbreak of cholera in parts of Ilorin about a year ago was essentially lack of good drinkable water and poor hygiene occasioned by non availability of water. It is saddening that with almost N10bn spent on water reticulation in Ilorin metropolis alone, we are still digging boreholes everyday to access safe water.

I recall that inhabitants of Gaa Abese in Ilala, Irepodun local government area couldn't build a mosque for close to a year until we intervened. People couldn't build a place of worship because of insensitive people in government.

Can we continue to talk about Ajisaiye village in Moro local government area where human beings and cattle struggle for water from the same shallow source? Villagers must be at the pond by 3am otherwise, they wont get water for that day. Cattle drink from the same source as humans. Same place the cattle deficate!

We begged people from across the world before we could raise funds to sink a new borehole. Ajisaiye has no school, no health centre and no light.

Can we know, where and how, we have wronged these ones ruling over us? What did we do to deserve this neglect and insensitivity?

We will not for whatever reason allow our people to be distracted. We will certainly not. We will continue to ask questions, until there is a change of guard.

Abdulraham Abdulrasaq must be more determined now than ever to sacrifice more for our dear state in this struggle for total emancipation of our people.
