Kwara AAC Condemn The Arrest Of Sowore, Demands His Release

The Kwara State chapter of African Action Congress, AAC, has condemned the action of the Department of State Service, DSS over the arrest of it National Chairman and former Presidential candidate Mr Omoyele Sowore.

In a press statement issued by the state chairman of AAC, Mallam Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed discribe the action as Intimidation and violation of fundamental human rights.

The press statement in details;

Our attention has been drawn to the pre planned and orchestrated arrest and continued detention of the National Chairman of African Action Congress (AAC) and the Online news publisher Sahara reporters Omoyele Sowore by the operatives of Department of State Service, DSS in the early hours of today.

Going by this development, its crystal clear that Nigerians are under the autocratic rule in the disguise of democratic tendencies. Moreover, it signals the highest level of  despotism of the ruling party/ruling class in this country and that Nigerians are been hoodwinked and preoccupied with the shenanigans of our leaders at the helm of affairs with their politically ineptitude.

It is quite saddening that the DSS which is expected to protect life and maintain security of citizenry has been derailed, failed in their responsibilities and turned to be stooge as well as instrument of intimidation by the government.

However, the State Executive Council of African Action Congress, AAC, Kwara  state Chapter condemned this unprofessional action of the DSS in totality, urge President M. Buhari to call the Head of the agency to order as we demand the IMMEDIATE RELEASE of our principal Omoyele Sowore.

Thank you

Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed
State Chairman, AAC
Kwara state Chapter
