Deviant Kwara Speaker To Swear-in PDP Member-elect 14 Months Of Waiting
The Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yakubu Danladi will on Tuesday swear-in the only PDP Member-elect, Hon Abdulraheem Jimoh Agboola.
The Clerk of the House, Hajia H.J. Kperogi announced this via a statement made available to the press in Ilorin.
The Statement read: ”General Public that the Swearing-in for the Member-Elect (Ilorin South) Constituency, Hon. Jimoh Raheem Agboola has been scheduled for Tuesday, 9th February, 2021 in the Kwara State House of Assembly Hallowed Chamber at 10. O’clock in the morning.
”The Member-Elect and General Public are to therefore take note of the date.T he Member-Elect is further Urged to ensure full compliance with Covid-19 protocol while in attendance.”
This is coming after Court of Appeal summoned Danladi to face contempt of court charges on Thursday February 11, 2021.
Hon Jimoh Agboola was declared winner of Ilorin South State Constituency election by Court of Appeal in November 2019. But Kwara Speaker refused to swear-in the only PDP Member-elect despite calls from different groups including Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative, Forum of former Kwara Assembly members, Kwara PDP, Kwara Agenda, Kwara Must Change and others.
