Constituents Pass Vote Of Confidence On Kwara Deputy Speaker, Adetiba

The Kwara State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon. Raphael Adetiba-Olanrewaju has received commendation for his excellent performance and implementation of empowerment programmes in Oke-ero local government. 

The Oke-Ero Progressive Movement (OPM) in a statement issued by the publicity Secretary of the group Barrister Ogunmodimu Emmanuel Opeyemi on Wednesday passed vote of confidence on Rt Hon. Raphael Adetiba-Olanrewaju  and berated Kwara Must Change for their biased legislative watch.

The group noted that the member representing Oke-Ero State Constituency in Kwara House of Assembly, KWHA, is delivering dividends of democracy to his constituents within his capacity as a lawmaker.  

They described the Legislative Watch by acclaimed pro-democracy group, Kwara Must Change where the group rated Rt Hon. Raphael Adetiba-Olanrewaju below passmark in performance as mere imagination of attention seeking organization to smear the reputation of Kwara Deputy Speaker.

According to them, Hon Adetipa has touched all the 10 wards in Oke-ero local government positively. 

"To set the record straight for the sake of posterity, Rt Hon Raphael Adetiba-Olanrewaju has performed wonderfully in his legislative duties." 

Oke-Ero Progressive Movement said Adetiba has contributed immensely to about 13 bills, 17 motions and 24 reports considered in the 9th Assembly under his deputising capacity of the able speaker geared towards development of the state inclusive of those he had to personally moved.

Adding that the lawmaker has a functioning constituency office in Ekan ward and 2 liaison offices at Idofin Igbana and Iloffa respectively to foster cordial relationship with his constituents. 

Below are details of intervention of Hon Adetiba-Olanrewaju;

HONOURABLE ADETIBA-OLANREWAJU RAPHAEL, DEPUTY SPEAKER OF KWARA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY 365 DAYS STEDWARDSHIP

1. LEGISLATION

24 landmark reports were considered appropriate resolutions passed, 13 transformational bills were enacted and 17 reconstruction motions were moved under the 9th Assembly leadership of Rt Hon Yakubu Salihu Danladi who Adetiba is deputising. While two of these reports were presented by the deputy speaker and one of the motion  moved by him while others were moved by workaholic and respective colleagues chairing various committee for efficiency.

2. ON EDUCATION 

I. PROVISION OF OVER 5000 EXERCISE BOOKS FOR ALL THE PUPILS IN THE 34 PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN OKE ERO LOCAL GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOLS.

II. PROVISION OF COMPLETE SET OF SCHOOL UNIFORMS TO OVER 350 PUPILS ACROSS THE 34 PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN OKE-ERO.

III. SCOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ACCROSS THE CONSTITUENCY ALSO SCHOLARSHIP WAS GIVING TO ILOFFA GRAMMAR SCHOOL JUNIOR AND SENIOR SECONDARY BEST STUDENTS

IV. PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES FOR OKE-ERO INDIGENOUS YOUTHS.

There is a saying that when you build the youth, you have automatically built the nation. This made Hon Adetiba to pay the school fees for over 50 indigenous students of Oke-Ero who are in tertiary institutions across the state institutions (kwara State Polytechnic and University of Ilorin).

As if that was all. Hon Adetiba also helped more than hundreds of Oke-Ero indigenous youths/students across the constituency to gain admission into various schools via his good will and reputation.

V. FACILITATION OF RENOVATION OF JAMAAT SECONDARY SCHOOL, ODO-OWA BY THE STATE GOVERNMENT OF OUR ABLE LEADER, GOV ABFULRDHMAN ABULRAZAQ

VI. SPONSORSHIP OF 20 FIRST / PIONEER STUDENTS OF DAVEST SCHOOL OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY ACROSS THE 10 WARDS IN OKE-ERO

3. WELFARE OF THE CRIPPLED BOY IN AYEDUNCOMMUNITY.

In the course of caring out the above listed impactful projects, Hon. Adetiba Olanrewaju and his team met a crippled boy who needed medical treatment for his proper movement. But Olanrewaju in his philanthropist heart took the victim to the hospital and paid his hospital bills which amount to over #695,000.

After the long time treatment, KAYODE OLALEKAN from Ayedun he’s now walking with his two legs again.

4. ON EMPOWERMENT AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
EMPOWERMENT AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE MARKET MEN AND WOMEN.

Knowing vividly that there were many hard working small scale business owners out there who in one way or the order needed the support of a philanthropist like him, so as to foster their business.

Hon. Adetiba-Olanrewaju provided empowerment and financial support for over 50 market women / traders across the constituency.

This empowerment was done to improve the standard of living of the residence of Oke-Ero community and its environs.

Hon Adetiba provided #50,000 each to 10 youths across the wards in Oke-ero for entrepreneur startup capital
Distributions of Grinding machines , Sewing machine, Cobbler machine, deep Freezer, hair dryer to women and widows in Oke-Ero.

5. ON AGRICULTURE

Just of recent over 150 farmers in Oke-Ero benefited from his kind gesture in his effort to help farmers to improve and increase their output during 2020 farming season by providing Agro chemical and other farming imputs

6. ON HEALTH

1. Even in health care he has been paying hospital bills, responsible for bills of some operations and some critical issues that too much to bear by indigenes.

2. During the outbreak of Coronavirous also known as Covid-19, Hon. Adetiba distributes palliatives worth of a million naira and he also distributes hand wash soap and hand sanitizer to complement his leader effort from the state. 

7. ON SPORT AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. 

1. Honourable Adetiba-Olanrewaju Raphael organized ADETIBA UNITY CUP 2019 to promote unity in the constituency and develop Sport.

2. He also supported Oke-Ero U-15 Football Team financially and morally during AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Governor’s Cup 2019.

3. Adetiba contribution cannot be over looked during Kwara Sports Festival tagged KWAFEST2020.

8. RENOVATION, GRADING AND LINKING OF MANY ROADS.

For a long time, the community members have been facing the problems of bad roads which had been hindering both market men and women who have goods to distribute to various villages.

More so, vehicles are also battling with the challenge of ungraded roads filled with pot holes and bushes.

Hon Adetiba had also brought convenience to every members of the community using the abandoned-roads for their daily engagement within the Oke-Ero community by renovating, grading and linking of many roads together. Below are some of the roads;

9. HONOURABLE ADETIBA ALSO FACILITATED THE CONSTRUCTION OF OMI-AYIN BRIDGE IN IDOFIN ODO-ASE. THE BRIDGE BEING CONSTRUCTED BY KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT

10. WATER INFRACTRUCTURE

i. Repair of Borehole at Idofin Igbana.
ii. Repair of Borehole and replacement of water pump machine at Ekan.
iii. Facilitated sinking of 5 new boreholes at Ayedun, Iloffa, Egosi, Odo-owa ward 1 and 2

11. ELECTRICITY

Facilitation of 300kva Transformer at National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in Ekan.

12. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

I. Cash support of #200,000 towards Kajola Community Development.

II. Cash support of #200,000 towards building of Elerinmope’s palace.

III. Cash support of #50,000 to furnish the Civil Defense Office at Odo-Owa.

IV. Cash support of #150,000 towards Student Union Projects at Ayedun.

V. Cash support of #100,000 for Idofin Igbana Elite Woman Association in support of their Community Development Drive/Projects.

13. SOCIAL INTERVENTION

Food Items worth #1 Million distributed as palliatives during lockdown and as Ramadan gift items to constituents.

14. ON SECURITY 

In response to the current insecurity in the country, Hon. Raphael Adetiba-Olanrewaju singlehandedly donated a hilux van to Ekan meje Divisional Station upon creation in 2020 to ease the movement of the men of the Nigerian Police Force. 

We however advise Kwara Must Change to be more diligent, painstaking and objective in future assessment not expecting legislators to complete questionnaire by themselves noting that thoroughness is what differentiate research from opinion, hearsay and falsehood.

It's crystal clear that the Kwara Deputy Speaker has done well and he is enjoying good rating among his constituents due to excellent performance within and outside Kwara State House of Assembly.
