Kwara's IGR: PDP Preaching Economic Junk - APC
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged the public to disregard the claims by opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara state on the fall in the Internal Generated Revenue, IGR, in the state, stating that it is their usual craze for peddling economic junk and jargon.
The APC in statement released stated that it is a general knowledge that the Covid-19 pandemic affected economic activities globally, which affected revenue generation in the year 2020, coupled with the fact that the nation had just exited recession in the fourth quarter of 2020.
The party said PDP's propensity for preaching schism and profanity and their penchant for uttering political and social obscenities belong to the superlative.
"A flashback to the 16 years of decadence of the past administration in Kwara state is a sad chapter in the history of the state that the people will not forget in a hurry. It was an unmitigated disaster. Education, health and social infrastructure were comatose while corruption oozed to high heavens. Kwara state laid prostate, holding thinly onto life on oxygen, having been sucked and sapped of all nourishment for growth and prosperity.
"The PDP should cover its face in shame rather than attempt to discredit a performing government.
"All over Kwara State, there are massive infrastructural upgrades - probably unprecedented; significant health sector improvement - never so witnessed in the State of Harmony; enviable urban renewal programmes yet to be equalled and enhanced educational and agricultural intervention- yet unmatched going on. And AbdulRazaq is not about letting go as he is breaking new grounds everyday.
"We would refuse to be dragged by the PDP into a contest of political rhetorics, a party whose historic symbolism in 16years at Kwara Government House was creating avenue for rewarding good boys, the APC stated.
