Ramadan Welfare Package: Hon. Omar Bio Distributes Food Items Across Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency
In a bid to cushion the untoward effects of the economic hardship during this period of Ramadan (fasting), the House of Representatives member representing the great people of Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency of Kwara State, Hon. Mohammed Omar Bio, IION, has extended a hand of humanitarian gestures to his constituents in Baruten LG with donations of food items tagged Ramadan Welfare Package.
The food items which were being distributed across Baruten LG were continuations to the distribution that commenced in Kaiama LG on Tuesday. The items are; bags of rice, bags of semovita, packs of St. Louis Sugar, packs of (peak & three crowns) milk, packs of Lipton, Bournvita, Milo, etc.
While flagging off the distribution of the items in Baruten, the lawmaker through his Personal Assistant (P.A) Domestic and corresponding Director of Projects in his constituency (annex) office, Arc. Yusuf Qasim explained that the intervention became necessary to support his constituents as well as compliment the efforts of the state government in easing the economic challenges being faced at this trying time. He added that the distribution is targeted at all residents of Baruten irrespective of their political and tribal inclination.
The beneficiaries of the Ramadan palliatives, while expressing joy, thanked the lawmaker for the kind gesture. They said the items will go a long way to cushion the hardship associated with this season while praying to God to bless the lawmaker in multiple folds and grant his heart desires.
They (beneficiaries), however, reassured the donor of their continuous support to his legislative leadership in his efforts at transforming the constituency and improving livelihoods.
The distribution of the items were coordinated by Mallam Issa Docky for Gwanara District, Comr. Iliasu Ibrahim for Ilesha District, Hon. Usman Boriya and Ajibolo for Okuta District and Hon. Abdulhameed Ditere for Yashikira District.
