The ward tour berthed at Shawo Central, with Offa people saying the era of political mercantilism is gone because they will only appreciate and support politicians that have performed.
They said they are fully in support of Governor AbdulRazaq's continuity agenda and there is no going back on it having prepared their minds.
The youths who were well represented in the tour noted that the era of AbdulRazaq represents the end of political subjugation and stifling of young voices.
“Governor AbdulRazaq believes in the young generation and he has demonstrated it clearly without any doubt. The youths of Offa have made up their minds to reciprocate. We salute His Excellency for the appointment of young persons like Abdulmajeed, Kola and Tade and the high level of confidence bestowed in youths through them. We also hail Hon. Whyte for his pro-youths stance. We are committed to go all out to sell ‘AA Continuity Agenda’ as a means of showing appreciation. It is our firm belief that the continuity of Governor AbdulRazaq will usher in a greater era of development, institutional reforms, job creation, inclusive governance and shared prosperity,” some selected youths who spoke to newsmen said at the event.
“We salute all our leaders who do not look down on young persons and women in their quest to support good governance and democratic transparency and accountability. We also call on the governor to ensure that he opens up the political space to accommodate young persons and women just as he has opened up the governance space to them.”
Speaking at the tour, Hon. Whyte said Governor AbdulRazaq has given to Kwara much more than is envisaged in the space of two years as there is no local government that is left untouched with tangible projects.
For his part, Mallam Abdulmajeed insisted that the best way to sustain a performing government is through continuity, adding it is what necessitated the birth of ‘Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Continuity Movement’.
Hon. Oyawoye took turns to appreciate Governor AbdulRazaq, while rolling out his numerous achievements that cut across road infrastructure, school renovation and healthcare development in Offa and across Kwara State.
Hon. Shittu enjoined the mammoth crowd to remain formidable as the governor is more than determined to continue developing not only Offa community but Kwara as a whole.
For their part, Alhaji Suleiman Kolawole, Baba Shogo and other party elders who were also at the event commended the governor's appointees for providing the best representation to the community.
They also enjoined the mammoth crowd not to relent in their encouraging support for Governor AbdulRazaq as exemplified by the appointees.
The party elders meanwhile frowned at the series of attacks targeted at the party faithful loyal to the governor by disgruntled elements, saying nobody can stop an idea whose time has come.
