Cult Clash Claims Life In Ilorin
In a tragic incident preceding the annual confraternities' anniversary, a man named Abdullahi lost his life during a cult clash in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.
The violent confrontation erupted in the Ile-Kewu, Oke-Apomu quarters of the Ilorin metropolis around 9 pm on Wednesday.
According to a source, the cultists initially intended to target Ibrahim, the elder brother of the deceased. However, in an act of retaliation, they mistakenly encountered Abdullahi, the younger brother, and fatally shot him. The shocking incident plunged the area into chaos, with the community reeling from the brutal assault carried out by the cultists.
The deceased was laid to rest on Thursday morning at the Muslim cemetery in Ilorin, located off Asa Dam road. As of now, the police have not officially confirmed the incident, as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the 'C' Division has yet to receive information regarding the cult clash.
