According to him, the government's intervention is crucial to ensuring the long term viability and growth of the institution.

Engineer Abu Salami said “we also implore relevant stakeholders, including land management authorities, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies, to collaborate in resolving this pressing issue. By working together, we can formulate effective strategies, enforce legal boundaries and prevent further encroachment on the polytechnic's lands.

“We call upon the esteemed alumni of Kwara State Polytechnic, individuals who have excelled in various fields and positions of influence, to lend their voice and support to this cause. Your influence and advocacy can play a pivotal role in raising awareness, mobilizing resources, and galvanizing action to rectify this unfortunate situation. Together, we can make a difference”, he added.

The Pro Tem President of the Alumni Association, who disclosed that about fifty one percent of the polytechnic’s land had been encroached, while six percent out of it are currently being used by the encroachers, said the Alumni Association remains steadfast in its commitment to protect the interests of the alma mater and secure a brighter future for Kwara State Polytechnic.

Engineer Abu Salami added that the Polytechnic Worldwide Alumni Association would support all efforts by the appropriate authorities to reclaim the institution's lands, as it would work closely with the the State Government, land management authorities, and law enforcement agencies to ensure the full enforcement of the law and the protection of the polytechnic's property.
