Ilorin West Favoured As Saliu Mustapha Facilitates Multi-Million Naira Road Project

...Communities commend Tinubu, AbdulRazaq

A major road construction project has been approved for Ilorin West local government as part of the recently passed 2.7 trillion supplementary budget proposed by President Bola Tinubu.

The construction of the asphaltic road, which was recently approved, comes after a series of passionate requests to Senator Saliu Mustapha, the senator representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District, from residents and community development associations from Kuntu, Isale-Jagun, Kangu, Gaa-Aremu and other areas of Ilorin West.

It should be noted that Mustapha chairs the Senate Committee on Agriculture.

Speaking to our correspondent, one of Senator Mustapha’s legislative aides in the state, Alhaji Tunde Abdulkadir, who was on an inspection visit to the project site in the company of representatives from the Gaa-Aremu communities, noted that his visit was to connect the contractor handling the project with the community representatives for adequate synergy.

He said it was also to reiterate the fact that the Senator's monitoring team would not settle for less in terms of standard and quality of the project.

He further added that projects such as this will complement the giant strides of the KWSG on road infrastructure.

“All hands must be on deck to support the KWSG on the improvement of roads and necessary infrastructure in the state.

As we all know, the state is doing a lot already and we can't leave everything to the government.”

Reacting to the development, the President of Isale-Jagun Community Development Association, Salman Yusuf Adebayo, described the project as a dream come true for the area.

“Our people have suffered for too long and they are excited that the reconstruction process is finally happening. If you have plied the road before, you will understand how important this project is to our people. If completed, the road would ease life and improve businesses in the area.”

He then expressed the community’s appreciation to the President, the Governor of Kwara State, Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Senator Saliu Mustapha for the intervention, promising that the communities will follow through on the project from execution to completion stage.
