A43-year-old man, Muhammadu Ali has been shot dead while experimenting with bulletproof charm in Bauchi State, Northeast Nigeria.

Ali was shot dead while testing the protective charm he had collected from a herbalist, according to the police.

The spokesperson for the Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the incident on Wednesday, saying, "We got to the scene and rushed Mr. Ali to the hospital, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead."

Wakil, therefore, counselled the public to desist from patronizing herbalists who defraud unsuspecting victims in this manner.

"The herbalist in question is in our custody; we are also on the trail of two accomplices. They would be charged to court after investigation," Wakil added.

Since the escalation of violent crimes across northern Nigeria, more people are seeking protection from herbalists which often leads to loss of lives.
