Christopher University To Host International Conference On African Socio-economic Challenges
The numerous social and management sciences challenges bedevilling Africa have propelled Christopher University, the Social and Management Scientists Forum, and MSME Business Solutions to collaborate on an international conference in 2021 and 2022. The major aim of this collaboration is to address Africa's socio-economic challenges through research. The previous two conferences were highly successful, with over 80 research outputs presented.
The international conference is jointly organized yearly by Christopher University, the Social and Management Scientists Forum, and MSME Business Solutions. This year's edition, titled 'Governance, Leadership and the Management of a Fragile State,' is scheduled to be held from November 21st to November 24th, 2023, at the Chinua Achebe Auditorium, Christopher University, Mowe, Ogun State, Nigeria.
The conference will primarily focus on how effective and efficient leadership, governance, and management can be employed to address the plethora of challenges confronting most African countries and developing nations in other continents.
Dr. Benneth Eze, the Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, stated that researchers will present their research outputs under the following sub-themes:
- Educational Financing Models: the Student Loan Issue
- Governance, Poverty, and the Subsidy Question
- Governance, Economic Recession, and SMEs
- The Legal System and Governance Effectiveness
- Governance and International Diplomacy
- MSMEs Development and Economic Recovery
- Psycho-Social Issues in a Fragile State
- Economic Recession, the Media, and Public Perception of Governance
- Leadership, Human Capital, and Economic Recovery
- Accounting and Finance Ethics in a Fragile State
- Governance and Public Policy
- Leadership, Fiscal Policy Management, and the Economy
- Governance, Monetary Policy, and Economic Recession
- Public Debts and Economic Welfare
- Social Welfare in a Depressed Economy
- Governance, Unemployment, and Social Welfare
- Leadership and Effectiveness of Government Institutions
- The Informal Sector in a Challenged Economy
- Health Sector in a Challenged Economy
- Authors can also submit papers that are relevant to the main theme and not captured in the above-listed sub-themes.
The lead papers for the conference will be presented by the following scholars and industry experts:

Approximately 50 academics and industry experts are expected to present their research outputs during the conference.
