Update On Assassination Attempt Of Alfa Rifun (Haske Rifun) By Hamza Ndawuya

There was an assassination attempt on Alh. Abdulkadir Mustapha Alfa Rifun by Hamza Ndawuya on the 27th of June 2023. The Kwara Reporter News has been closely monitoring the incident and providing regular updates to the public.

The case began on the 25th of July 2023 and was later referred to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) on the 22nd of August 2023 for advice. The advice of the (DPP) came out on the 24th of October 2023, suggesting that Hamza Ndawuya has a question to answer. The case was adjourned to the 14th of November 2023 for a hearing. The public patiently awaits the outcome of this high-profile case, as justice is sought and the truth is revealed.

On the 14th of November 2023, since Hamza Ndawuya was the one with a question to answer according to the advice of the (DPP), there was a need for the substitution of the First Information Report (FIR) that would only involve Hamza Ndawuya alone. As a result, the (FIR) was allowed to be substituted and a new file was opened. The previous bail was terminated and a new bail condition was issued, requiring the production of two sureties who would have N200,000 in their account and be residents within the court's jurisdiction.

The (FIR) was read out during the hearing, and it stated that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) instructed the then Kwara State Commissioner of Police to investigate the matter. When Hamza Ndawuya was invited to the police headquarters in Ilorin and during the interrogation, he confessed and admitted to the allegations. It was also mentioned that the Kwara News Reporters continuously update the public on the case proceedings, making it difficult for any party to act dishonestly.

The counsel to the defendant (Hamza Ndawuya) was asked if he had any objection to the (FIR), to which he responded with a No. The charges leveled against Hamza are as follows: 1. Criminal intimidation 2. Unlawful restriction. The case was then adjourned to January 23rd, 2024, for a hearing.
