Youth Leaders Condemn Scandal Rocking Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in Nigeria
In the spirit of solidarity and unity of purpose towards a sustainable Nigeria, the national youth leaders of Nigeria's political parties express deep concern and condemnation over the recent scandalous revelations involving some members of President Tinubu's cabinet, specifically Dr Better Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, and other potential culprits whose identities may be revealed in the coming days.
We categorically denounce the abuse of office by individuals who are meant to exemplify and champion the aspirations of Nigerian youth. It is disheartening to witness such official recklessness under the renewed hope administration.
As a forum of youth leaders, it has been our utmost desire to witness the emergence of youth in positions of power. Therefore, it deeply pains us when a youth in power is embroiled in such a scandal.
What is even more alarming is that the names of the public officers implicated in this scandal so far belong to the youth, in whom the Nigerian youth population has placed immense trust.
We emphasize that these unpardonable corrupt practices, which have permeated the very fabric of Nigeria's public offices, must not be allowed to persist under any circumstances.
Consequently, we call upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure a diligent, thorough, and transparent investigation into the alleged involvement of Dr Betta Edu and other public office holders implicated in the current scandal. If the facts are properly established and guilt is found, we urge the president to ensure their prosecution without any fear or favor, in accordance with the law.
Furthermore, we implore President Tinubu to sustain the fight against corruption at all levels, demonstrating to Nigerians that this administration is committed to ending the era of business as usual.
In concluding, we affirm our unwavering loyalty and genuine support for President Bola Tinubu as he undertakes the necessary steps to rectify the past wrongs of leadership in our beloved country.
The National Youth Leaders Forum of Political Parties in Nigeria remains committed to voicing our concerns in areas of common interest and will not hesitate to commend the administration for any positive strides taken towards the establishment of a better and prosperous Nigeria.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Comr Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu,
