Residents and stakeholders in Iloffa community, Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State, have raised concerns over the deplorable condition of the Omu-Aran-Iloffa-Eruku-Egbe-Kabba federal road, describing it as a major threat to economic and social activities in the area. Flooding has destroyed houses and farmlands in Pututa and several other communities in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, following heavy rainfall and rising water levels. The affected communities include Tswako, Likpata, Godangi and Ekko, with residents reportedly suffering damage to homes, farms and other properties. An Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City has sentenced four men to death for offences including kidnapping, cultism and other violent crimes. The Special Criminal Court, presided over by Justice Terry Momodu Aigbona, handed down the sentences after delivering a judgment that lasted more than three hours. A threat of a bandit attack has forced the founder of Word Assembly Ministries, Ilorin, Rev. Isaac Omolehin, his family and more than 100 residents to flee a church camp in Idofian village, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. Omolehin said the evacuation followed a midnight warning by police officers who arrived at the camp between May 30 and 31 and directed residents to leave the facility over intelligence of an impending attack. Seven passengers have reportedly been abducted by suspected bandits along the Eruku–Iyemero road in Kwara State, although the police said its initial information indicated that three people were kidnapped. The reported incident occurred on Saturday evening when a vehicle carrying passengers was allegedly intercepted by suspected bandits along the road. Former Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Ekiti Local Government Area, Hon. Kehinde Bayode Osoko, has accused Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of abandoning him after he suffered a stroke while serving under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
