Former Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Ekiti Local Government Area, Hon. Kehinde Bayode Osoko, has accused Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of abandoning him after he suffered a stroke while serving under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Osoko made the allegation while speaking on a political programme on Diamond FM in Ilorin, where he discussed his political relationship with the governor and the circumstances surrounding his decision to leave the APC political camp.
According to Osoko, he had supported AbdulRazaq for about 20 years and made significant personal sacrifices for the governor’s political career.
“Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq abandoned me when I suffered a stroke as a serving chairman under APC, so I had to leave,” Osoko said.
He also recalled spending three days pasting campaign posters for AbdulRazaq without receiving payment.
“I had followed the governor for about 20 years and even spent three days pasting his campaign posters from Idigba in Ilorin to Eruku without collecting anything. Anyone who saw me would have thought I was mad,” he said.
Osoko said his experience eventually made him question remaining in a political environment where he felt his welfare was not adequately considered.
“Why stay in a place where they don’t cherish my well-being?” he asked.
The former council chairman’s comments come amid ongoing political realignments and debates over loyalty, political relationships and the treatment of grassroots politicians in Kwara State.
