Alhaji Ahmed Yahaya Seriki, the 12th Sarkin Gambari of Ilorin, has died.
His death was announced by the Sarkin Gambari Descendants Youths Forum in a statement expressing its submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
The forum described his death as a loss to the Gambari community and the Ilorin Emirate, while praying for the repose of his soul.
It also disclosed that arrangements for his Janazah, the Islamic funeral prayer, would be announced in due course.
“We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljanat Firdaus and gives the family, the Gambari Community and Ilorin Emirate the fortitude to bear this great loss,” the statement read.
The forum urged the family, members of the Gambari community and the Ilorin Emirate to find strength in faith as they mourn the late traditional titleholder.
Further details about his burial arrangements are expected to be announced by the forum.
