There is no doubt that the Kwara State branch of APC is lying critically ill under intensive care unit, having been abused, malnourished and mismanaged by its Leader, Governor AbdulRahaman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State, shortly after assuming office.
The silent killing approach of the Governor came to a crescendo with the 2027 general elections fast approaching. This seems to have precipitated the Governor running from pillars to post in a fire brigade approach as therapy to solving the self-inflicted political conflagration.
It is no gainsaying that Governor AbdulRahaman Abdulrasaq has become so entrenched in the cobweb of the crisis that His Excellency now attends to political rashes while leaving leprosy in the party to flourish. He now gives top priority to self-survival in his 2027 Senate bid, than returning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2nd Term!
His Excellency’s recent naming of Hon. Mashood Mustapha, a Kwara PDP Chieftain from Kwara Central Senatorial District, as 2027 Amirul-Hajj, is a case in point.
The appointment is not only politically motivated, it stenches political corruption and the use of public office to settle personal scores in exchange for 2027 political mandate to the Senate.
This move, no doubt, interrogates the Governors loyalty to the APC and his sense of justice to the loyal members who are equally or even more qualified than his nominee/appointee.
One has no compunction asking Governor AbdulRahaman Abdulrasaq’s moral justification in challenging The ‘O to Gee’ Progressives (TOP) over the Rainbow Coalition being championed by the FCT Minister Nyensom Wike?
The Bible says, “The wicked flee even when no man pursue; But the righteous are secure as a young lion (Proverbs: 28:1). Why is Governor AbdulRahaman Abdulrasaq, running to Sókótó (a town) when the solution to his problem is right in your Sòkòtò (pocket)?
One would have thought that President Bola Tinubu’s parables and body language would have been enough correct signals to the Kwara State Governor to descend from his “high horse” to engage the genuinely aggrieved APC leaders at home.
Selective settlement of the Party faithful and members of the public in this circumstance, is like clutching to shrubs to survive the Atlantic currency of an imminent political disaster.

Bàbá Làbẹ-làbẹ is an inconsistent politician and a typical sore loser. This is a man who abandoned APC in 2020, worked for and lost in SDP in 2023, half-heartedly return to APC in 2024 and later joined the Rainbow ‘Collision’ after his preferred aspirants couldn’t secure the party nominations. Someone should tell this Bàbá that his ilks in Kwara politics has exhausted their political call cards and outlived their political relevances.
