The command disclosed this on Thursday, saying the suspects were arrested during an intelligence-led operation following credible information received by its operatives.

The suspects were identified as Nurah Abdullahi, 20, popularly known as Hartabo, and Sherif Abdullahi, 23.

Items reportedly recovered from them included vandalised transformer cables, cable outer and inner peels, a Bajaj motorcycle, a saw, a knife and a pair of electrical gloves, among other materials.

The NSCDC added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend other individuals suspected of involvement in the alleged acts of vandalism.

The State Commandant, Abbas Ndah Mohammed, commended the operatives for their commitment to protecting critical national infrastructure across Kwara State.

Mohammed warned that the state would not be allowed to become a safe haven for vandals, criminals and economic saboteurs.

He said the command would sustain intelligence-led operations to identify, arrest and investigate individuals whose activities threaten public safety and critical infrastructure.

The commandant also urged those involved in the vandalisation of public infrastructure to desist from such acts, stressing that the NSCDC remained committed to protecting government assets and safeguarding the socio-economic wellbeing of residents.
